What you can do with the data, and what the Index does not promise.

## Using the data

The registry and every published score, sample size, margin and topic count are available in [tools.json](https://dictationindex.com/tools.json) under the [Creative Commons Attribution 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) licence. You may copy, adapt and republish them, including commercially, if you credit The Dictation Index and link to the [edition](https://dictationindex.com/editions) you used.

If you quote a rank, quote its tie. A tool that is statistically tied with others should not be described as the outright winner.

## What is not ours to license

Posts quoted on tool pages belong to their authors. Product names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify the products.

## No promises

The Index summarises what people said in public about software. It is not advice, and it is not a test of any product. Scores can be wrong, registry facts can go out of date, and vendors change prices and features without telling us. Check anything that matters with the vendor before you rely on it. The site is provided as it is, without warranty.
